EN: The Living End have begun the process of making their sixth album, the long awaited and very hotly anticipated follow-up to the 2008 monster White Noise.

Last week Living End hooked up with producer Nick Didia to get started. Nick has worked with some pretty impressive figures including Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam & Powderfinger, so TLE are in good hands for the recording process.

To ensure that audiences are presented with the very best of the best, the band have written more than a few tunes that could potentially make the album. But it's probably best you hear all of this from Chris Cheney. Here goes:

“We are super excited to be working alongside the very talented Nick Didia who we met while making White Noise. He is a fantastic producer and he knows how to capture the sound and spirit of a band. This is very important for us,”

With a swag of new tunes clocking in at around the 40 songs mark, Chris muses:
“That’s the shortlist! The aim has been to construct something more direct, simple and therefore tougher and bigger sounding than anything we’ve done before. We’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with the parts of the songs to achieve this. Also and most importantly this will be an album, not just a bunch of songs.”

Quote from Herald Sun (21 Feb): "The trio head to Byron Bay's 301 Studios this week after prepping their sixth record at Red Door Sounds, the studio frontman Chris Cheney part-owns with his management. Cheney joked that the band was recording at Byron Bay because his manager Rae Harvey "would rather have someone who will pay for the room" at their Red Door Sounds studios in Melbourne.
But working behind the desk is something the respected singer and guitarist says he will probably explore more in coming years. "For the past couple of years, I've delved further into the production and studio side, especially after White Noise," he said."

But, there are other things happening too. The Living End announced last month that they will be stepping into headline duties at the after race concert for the 2011 Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix. Now, it seems that the promoters are a little excited by this prospect as they have had a TLE race car made up! Very exciting, we cannot wait to catch this baby on the road...

Last month The Living End have been busy proving why they are one of Australia's best loved and most impressive live acts. They absolutely tore to shreds the Falls, Southbound & Sunset Sounds Festivals in late December and early January. From a freezing Falls to a smoky Southbound and a very wet Sunset Sounds, TLE really brought the rock to the Australian headlining set. Check out some reviews here and here.

RU: The Living End уже приступили к работе над шестым альбомом. На прошлой неделе американский продюсер Nick Didia присоединился к ним в Мельбурне. Ник работал с такими впечатляющими исполнителями, как Брюс Спрингстин, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam и Powderfinger, так что TLE попали в хорошие руки.

Чтобы гарантированно предоставить публике лучшее из лучшего, группа написала немало песен, которые могут пройти финальный отбор. Но лучше обратимся к комментарию Криса Чини:

Мы потратили много времени, эксперементируя с частями песен, чтобы добиться этого. Также, что наиболее важно, это будет альбом, а не просто набор песен."

Цитата из Herald Sun (21 Feb): "На этой неделе трио направляется в 301 Studios в Байрон Бэй, окончив подготовку альбома в мельбурнской Red Door Sounds студии, которой фронтмен Крис Чини владеет совместно с менеджментом группы. Чини пошутил, что группа записывается в Байрон Бэе из-за того, что их менеджер Рэй Харви "скорее бы пустила в студию кого-то, кто платит за ее аренду".

Но помимо записи альбома нам еще есть, чего ожидать. В прошлом месяце было анонсировано выступление TLE на Мельбурнском Гран При Формулы 1. Группа станет хэдлайнерами концерта 27 марта.
